Coaching for Individuals and Companies.
I am a Coach and non-practicing Family Law Barrister. I offer coaching and training in relation to trauma recognition and release. I have created bespoke exercises to enable clients to build their own resources. I work with professionals and particularly those who are exposed to trauma and vicarious trauma in their work.
Trauma is when you feel overwhelmed by an experience and are unable to cope. Too much trauma exposure can leave you feeling constantly as if you are in fight or flight.
Answering yes to any of the following questions may indicate that your trauma load is becoming problematic:
Q. Do you often feel as if you are only just coping? That if there was one more problem, it may tip you over the edge?
Q. That you are a little bit agitated more often than not, and cannot remember the last time you felt properly relaxed?
Q. Do you sometimes feel as if you don’t really know yourself these days? Surprised at times by overreactions and become easily upset?
Q. Is your immune system run down? Do you feel lacking in energy and keep getting ill?
Q. Do you have a sense that there are emotions buried deeply in your system that hamper your ability to feel truly present, happy and at peace?
Trauma is not like stress- You cannot release it through talking alone. There are specific ways to release trauma.
Knowing how to recognise and release trauma requires expert assistance.
I offer a number of workshops and coaching programmes.
All will enable you to recognise and release trauma for yourself and to know how to protect against further trauma exposure. Trauma Inoculation is designed for all.
For some, a more targeted programme may be suitable.

Testimonials
Working with Camilla over the past few months has been hugely beneficial for my personal growth. Together we have evaluated aspects of my mindset and approach to situations, both in life and in work, that have had a hugely positive impact on my professional and personal relationships. Our sessions have allowed me to identify unhelpful habits, provided me with tools to help gain better self-awareness and perspective when it is needed and set useful short and long term goals. It’s been an incredibly positive experience and one that I would strongly recommend to others in any professional field.
I have always considered myself an ear for everyone else's problems; someone who helps people by talking them through what's on their mind or referring them to someone who can, like a life coach. Naively, I always thought a life coach was a person other people needed. Not me. My eyes were opened when I started my coaching sessions with Camilla Wells. I didn't know at the time how much I needed someone to get me talking about myself and my needs and worries - something I'd neglected in my hectic work and personal life. Camilla held me accountable - in all the right ways - for looking after myself. With no judgement, she related to my personal experiences and helped to empower me to make positive changes, which have not only benefited me but the people around me too.
Working with Camilla was something I didn't know I needed until I started. First of all having someone who just listened to me and let me say everything and anything that was on my mind was incredible but then also how she actually took notice of every word and related it to things that I could never have tied together on my own. She allowed me to take a step back and look at life and work in a more holistic way and see how I can get the most out of my strengths and work through my weaknesses. I feel like she has helped me so much in dealing with how to approach sensitive things both in work and in life in a way that makes it as straightforward and productive as possible for everyone involved. The sessions also go so quickly as the conversation is so free flowing due to the comfortable environment that she creates. I've happily recommended Camilla to friends and colleagues.
I have been so grateful to have been offered coaching. I did not realise how much I needed to off-load and found the ability to do that with someone objective and neutral so helpful. I have made so much progress in terms of changing the way I view aspects of my life. It has made me so much happier. I found Camilla has such broad knowledge and experience and the tools she shared are so effective.
I find work life balance so difficult especially since covid when I work mostly at home and never feel able to switch off. Before I started coaching, my anxiety levels were so high. I felt that I could never relax or switch off. Coaching has helped me gain back my life and perspective. It took me a while to really open up but the rewards have been life changing. So grateful!
Camilla's supervision/coaching has been a really important part of my professional (and personal) development recently. She has provided me with a holistic overview of my life and practice and was able to provide a valuable insight into some areas which wouldn't be covered by practice reviews, or other assistance. It really helped me to know that Camilla is someone who has practised in the same area as me, and I felt that she really understood where I was coming from. I also found the breathing exercises that we did at the start of the sessions provided a springboard space to pause and properly reflect and I was grateful to be able to take this time apart from the rest of the world to work on myself. I would highly recommend Camilla's coaching/supervision to other junior barristers, or professionals at any stage of their careers – she is friendly, understanding and insightful.
Camilla has been a reassuring, calm, supportive presence and a great sounding board over the past few months. Her legal background has been invaluable in understanding the challenges and pressures that a career in law can bring. My sessions with her have helped me to think about how to achieve a healthy and sustainable work/ life balance and have given me a sense of self-awareness and perspective in what has been a crazy year. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
I came to Camilla because my limiting beliefs and lack of confidence were holding me back at work. I was nose diving after applying for an AVP role unsuccessfully. Camilla has focused me and got me back to feeling confident and creative. She's put practical steps in place while working on deeper development needs. As a result of our coaching, I've got a new verve and enthusiasm for my job and I am showing up to work as my best self. I've put in place a robust roadmap and action plan which she has helped me implement and I am back on an exciting leadership journey.
Camilla has been so helpful both in terms of her gentle observations and help with changing some of my patterns of behaviour that don’t serve me and in relation to practical pointers in my work. It is wonderful to work with a Coach who has such a sound understanding of the stresses of being a Lawyer. I find I don’t have to explain much. The progress I have made through Coaching has been swift. The sessions go so quickly but there is so much I want to note down afterwards. I will definitely come back for more Coaching in the future when/if I need it.
